Little Beatrice passed away last night right at dinner time. She was a really special cat, and we have been so blessed to have her for eight and a half years. We adopted her from the local shelter in December 2006 when she was just seven months old. God really gave her to us, because she walked right up and she picked me at the shelter that day. She started frenzying all over my legs and then climbed into my winter coat hood and fell right to sleep. You don't get cuter than that. Photo at left is her kitten photo from the shelter.
She has had asthma all of her life, and several times before she has been sick so that we thought we would lose her. But this was very sudden. She had been so healthy lately and active and happy. Last night, she was sitting on the stool at the kitchen window when she got startled by noise from the other cats. She fell off of the stool and had a little seizure or heart attack right there. It was only a minute or two and she was gone. Poor Little Bee.
It's hard to get used to the idea that she won't be bringing anymore little mousy toys as presents or having little frenzies or listening to Brenda Lee songs. Saying goodbye to all of them is hard, but she was a very special babe-kins. We were really blessed to have all those wonderful years with her.
